Title: 66 blower motor color

 hi guys and gals.looking for the correct shade of black on the blower motor for a late 66 dearborn built convertible.also did all 66 blower motors have the tape around them. thanks.

Semi-gloss black is fine.  All originals I have seen had the tape in the middle.  Sometimes the wires have black over-spray on them.

sorry for the delay in returning.thanks for the info caspain65.also what kind of tape was used around the blowermotor.how wide was it.can the wires be replaced.thanks agian

I used a tape AMK sells

I got the 2" tape and trimmed it down to 1"

I don't know if its the "best" product out there for concours restorations, it works for me.
If you're interested in some, in the past, I've sent members strips of the tape on wax paper -
I don't need 180' and it seems foolish for everyone to buy a roll when you normally only need a foot or so.

Masking tape sprayed with black paint works fine too.  The original stuff was a grayish color.

These are fairly new products for us, and I really like them.  They work well and look great.
