Title: 71 Mustang windshield supports
Post by: Ashley on January 29, 2017, 06:39:23 PM
Were the windshield support brackets and wiper rest painted before being bolted on? They have some type of galvanized coating applied with possibly some over spray. Car was built March 71.

In the pictures I have of original 72 & 73 examples the mounting hardware is not painted so that would indicate that they were not on the car when any paint was applied to the area. Best I can do based on my current inventory

Thanks for prompt reply.  I have a set of brackets off a 72 that are unpainted with some type of coating. Brackets on car with red hood appear to be unpainted. Are fasteners zinc dichromate ,( gold ) or another coating.

Brackets should be semi-gloss black.  Hardware is phosphate & oil.
