Title: 67 Coupe Seat Tags
Post by: IndyFive-O on March 06, 2017, 08:34:48 PM
I have a 3-1-67 Metuchen Coupe with these tags under each front seat.

Are these a common find?
What do they tell us?

Common to find.  Search "MSWBP ford" on Google also.

Been discussed (just not 67) here in other threads. Found in cardboard and steel.

67gta289 has already posted a link to one of the past threads - Thanks

Identified the spring assembly not the completed seat. Believe it shows the supplier, shift, batch and so on for tracking as well as a part number for Ford usage as identified likely in the specifications

Interesting that the tag was not painted along with the seat frame as most originals are found painted black as the seat frame is painted.  This tag was obviously attached after the seat frame was painted....which is strange as most tags get attached before the seat frame has been painted.  Neat to see the seat tag in its "NAKED" Cardboard form.

:o)

Have to disagree that most were painted espeically if your discussing front seat springs. Here are a number of front seat spring identification tags that were not painted.

From an earlier car

Here are the originals from my car.  Looks to have been painted black along with the springs.

C7ZB-6564700-A and C7ZB-6564701-A

Date code 11 14 and 11 21

Car assembled 12 15 (1966)

Often times people are asking how much time transpired before the car was assembled, so this is a point of reference.

Likely multiple vendors/suppliers depending on where the car was built. This would explain the differences in tag style, design and finish we find
