[I initially posted this on Corral.net years ago, but thought it would be beneficial for folks over here as well]

So, you bought a used 1994 or 1995 Cobra, don't have the SVT Certificate and want to know or need to verify the actual Assembly Line date of build (MONTH/DAY/YEAR)?

Here's how:

1) Open driver's door, look for the large white VCL decal that is affixed to the B-pillar. On the top LEFT corner of this decal, it will have the MONTH and YEAR of when the car was assembled (format will be: MO/YR).

For instance, my 94 Cobra's VCL shows "01/94"

~~~
Now you're saying, ok, but, what about the actual DAY it was built?
2) To find the actual DAY your Cobra was built on the assembly line, look for the factory BUC tag. This is a metal tag that is attached to the DRIVER side radiator support by a large industrial staple. It is normally located directly behind the driver side headlamp assembly. If your vehicle still has the factory black plastic radiator support cover, you will need to remove that to locate the BUC tag. Once you have located the factory BUC tag, you will want to focus on the 2nd or middle line of text. On this line, most likely towards the center of the tag, you will find the MONTH and DAY your vehicle was actually assembled. The format will be: MODAY (no spaces, dashes, slashes, etc).
For instance, the below attached image is of a snapshot of that area on my BUC tag. My Cobra was assembled on January 24th, 1994 "0124"
(NOTE 1: If a GENUINE COBRA, the word "COBRA" will also be stamped into the BUC tag right after the date.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

IF the VCL label is missing from the B-pillar or has been destroyed, to verify YEAR of vehicle - you can verify by VIN (either VIN @ dash or VIN decals found on body panels):

Model Year is always 10th position on VIN (1994 = R / 1995 = S)

~~~
Also note worthy items:
1994-95 Mustang Cobras only have a SINGLE BUC tag, not two.
94-95 Cobra VIN breakout:
Position 1: 1
Position 2: F
Position 3: A
Positions 1-3 = all Ford VINs will always be "1FA" which is the code for Ford Motor Company.
Position 4: L (type of restraint system = Active Safety Belts - All Positions, First Generation Air Bags)
Position 5: P = passenger car
Position 6: 4
Position 7: 2
Positions 6 & 7 = Body Type (42 = coupe, 45 = convertible)
Position 8: D (if genuine Cobra, this will always be a "D" for 94/95)
Position 9: Check Digit (this can be a valid number 0-9 OR the Alpha Letter X)
Position 10: Model Year (94 = R, 95 = S)
Position 11: F (Assembly Plant, F = Dearborn)
Positions 12-17: This will be the Consecutive Unit Number. 1994 - up, valid numbers will be 100001 - 600000.
To find out your 93-current COBRA actual PRODUCTION NUMBER (ie: X out of XX,XXX) this info is NOT available on the vehicle's VCL, VIN OR the BUC tag.
The only way to acquire an SVT Build Certificate OR find out your actual SVT vehicle build # information (if you do not have an SVT Certificate):
1) VISIT the following Ford website:
Ford Show Parts Certificates of Authenticity
https://www.fordshowparts.com/store.cfm?dept_id=1137&cart_id=02132965070111114100831046721720201205&store_id=1&parentID=1137
OR
2) CALL the following Ford #: 800-367-3788 (800-FORDSVT). When calling, you will need to provide the last (6) digits of your VIN and they may request other ownership verification data.
In either instance, the owner will have to pay $40.00 for a copy of the SVT Certificate if he/she wants the actual paper certificate.
3) To get a reproduced Window Sticker:
