Don't know if the story is true - sure wish someone would have posted a picture the drivetrain or undersides. That would be much more telling IMHO. Interesting that (guess we have to use modern term to make people interested) what was likely referred to as a 4WD is now a AWD  lol

In any case (so far with the article) there does not appear to be any facts. Some reference to the 1964 builds that we're all aware of (Ford did the same back in the 40's with the same company some really nothing new) and no real information about the convertible in question. Would guess the somewhat recent Bullite internet circus will continue to motivate allot of similar stories. Maybe some true and maybe a bit of a reach - but that is what has become of the internet. PT Barnum has a big smile on him somewhere.

On a similar note, a fella over on the VMF is building a 68 Vert into a AWD (4WD)...Quite a retrofit! (Perhaps could eventually link it to the "What was the PO Thinking" thread!
