I've got  a guy that wants the short block and I think timing cover but if he passes its yours. Did you notice the smog tubes? Built around the same as Al's

Yep, I think Al's car is like a March or April build.  He is planning to bring his GT350 to the Va. Beach show.

Al's GT-350 is a Late April build and He will be at the VA Beach show (I believe he will enter in trailered although he lives 10 minutes from the show site).

As for the smog tubes...from my research, I was morre convinced the tubes should have had the pinched ends instead of the capped ends. I had found the Ford went the the capped end in May, consistent with your motor. Also, Al's tubes are repros as the pinched tubes were in the unobtainium price range.

Overall, you pictures are very consistent to what I have learned about the J-code motors. That heater hose bracket looks suspicously close to a wire clip! You called out a notice on the ps side spark plug wire separator bracket...are you going to follow that same approach sans the bracket for your GT-350?

I know the capped tubes were serviced as early as late Jan so I would imagine it took from then till whenever for the engine plant to use them up. My 350 is an automatic and doesn't have Thermactor.

IS THE LOWER ALT. BRACKET PAINTED OR NATURAL?  I HAD A J-CODE VERY CLOSE TO THE SAME CONDITION AS YOUR PICTURED MOTOR AND I FOUND NO TRACE OF PAINT ON THE ALT. BRACKETS. THE ENGINE I HAD WAS A NOV. OR DEC. '67 MOTOR. THE VACUUM HOSES ON MY MOTOR WERE STRIPED W/O MX.

Alternator/smog pump bracket and adjusting bracket appear to not have any paint on them

I believe the clip on the center of the passenger valve cover is actually used to hold the vacuum hose(s) not the heater hose.  The clip is not large or heavy enough to actually hold the heater hose.
