Manifold Vacuum Line
« on: March 15, 2011, 12:19:29 PM »
My MAR 66 C-Code engine has the standard steel vacuum line that exits a brass 90 degree fitting on the intake manifold, just to the rear of the carb.
Mr. Mannels book shows the tapered end of this steel line pointing vertical and being parallel to the rear of the stock air cleaner.

Now... my stock steel vacuum line from the modulator also sticks up vertical, near the left rear intake manifold bolt.

HOW IS THE RUBBER VACUUM LINE SUPPOSE TO LOOK THAT CONNECTS THE TWO?
IS IT SUPPOSE TO LOOK LIKE AN UPSIDE DOWN "u" ?
Does it have crimp on clamps?

The Mannel book suggests that the manifold steel line "may be tilted slightly" to facilitate connection.

The Trans vacuum line uses no clamps and yes the tub is bent basically in an inverted "U" not too short or the hose will be crimped
