5F09K3- Caspian Blue Jan 65 - Done
« on: April 12, 2012, 03:54:40 PM »
Well, my blue '65 K fastback started it's journey to it's new home in Germany today. Some may remember that I bought this car about 4 years ago, started a restoration and it stalled for typical reasons. Offered it to a friend of mine in Germany and he agreed to buy it and pay to finish out the restoration. Of course, somewhat regretting it now, but I know it will be in good hands. The thing that is most regrettable is how hard it would be to find another like it. This one retained the complete matching numbers drive-train and the only sheet metal not original are the front and rear valences. Never wrecked and had some very minor sheet metal repair to the driver side floor pan. Good colors, good options, just an all around great car. Won a concours gold at the MCA show in Pensacola last month too. Hope the journey is safe, I know there are some good times to come for the car!

Looks very nice.  Caspian Blue right?  I hope it has a safe trip across the pond to Deutschland.

If it got a gold last month, there must not be very much left to restore...

Hehe, you're obviously right.  The restoration work was completed here at my place.  Had an international crew assisting last summer, 2 Aussie's and 2 Germans!

Paul: Yes, Stephan is a good friend, I know he will care for it very well.  I just hope he doesn't create too much jealousy!   ;D  :D

As long as the car is in good hands, i'm not jealous.  :) ;)
And to make most german mustang fans jealous, Stephan would have to paint shelby-stripes and put bigger wheels on it, if you know what i mean  ;D
