Sad News
« on: December 27, 2009, 09:56:45 AM »
A few minutes ago I received an e-mail letting me know that Lark Bragg, MCA Head Judge for Classification, has passed away from cancer.  For those of you who have attended a National or Grand National show you would have met Lark with his trademark straw hat and bright headband.  He was a terrific person and a great friend.  I had the privilege of serving with him on the MCA Board for the last eight years.  I have lost a wonderful friend and MCA has lost much more.

He had recovered from cancer last year, but right before the July board meeting his back started hurting.  He was checked and it turned out that he had bone cancer in his spine and elsewhere.  He was operated on about a week or so ago, but apparently nothing could be done.

I have attended many MCA shows and one of the first persons that you'll likely meet was Lark Bragg. He was truly a nice guy, hard worker and a real Mustanger. Lark will surely be missed. My condolences go out to Beverly and the rest of his family.

Lark and I were good friends and we talked quite a bit.  Lark would down play this health because he didn't want anybody to worry about him.
So it was a big surprise last week when I called about him and I heard he was in the hospital with bone cancer.  Lark's family also told me that he had emergency surgery sometime in early December.

When I get the address to send Lark's family condolence cards I will post it.......Jake

I really can't imagine going to the next show and not seeing him there.  It just doesn't seem possible.

Lark was the ultimate ambassador for MCA. It'll take at least 5 people to fill his shoes. Our prayers and condolences to Beverly and the family.

I had no idea he was sick as well. He definately will be missed.  All the MCA shows I attended he was the one handling classification.  He did an excellent job with it.  Some big shoes to fill for that spot.

Our prayers to his family.
