Ford Dealer Badge
« on: March 09, 2014, 08:09:52 PM »
I'm curious about what Class or Classes take away points for having the Original Dealer Installed Badge on the Tail Light Panel?

Thanks

MCA would not deduct for it in any classes, assuming it is period correct.  If it's in bad condition, could possibly lose a point, but that's about all I can think of.

Thank you. I wasn't sure if Concourse is defined as Factory and Dealer installed options only. Since the Dealer Badge was neither, I wasn't sure if it would be allowed. I'm glad to find that it is...I like the way it adds to the period look; gives it more of a personal connection...at least to me it does.

Thanks again.

MCA concours is defined as - 'Delivered new to original owner.'  I believe that is in the MCA rulebook.

MCA concours is defined as - 'Delivered new to original owner.'  I believe that is in the MCA rulebook.
It also says "- without modifications." - which is the fine print that includes, no floor mats, no undercoating, etc.
It's a nebulous area in the rules book.

Agree, it's somewhat contradictory.  Just passing along what I know... not involved much with MCA these days.

I think if someone has original paperwork showing their car was undercoated, then that should be acceptable.  Although, I can see how it would be unfair for a non-undercoated car to be judged to the same level of detail as an undercoated car.

Anyway, getting O/T, prob best to create a new thread to discuss further.

+1 on Restored cars - since the builder has to add the stuff back to the car and the car didn't have the undercoating on it from the beginning.

Hate to go back to the days when people just goop the stuff on over poor workmanship, non- factory welds and other stuff. Makes judging allot of related pieces under the car  (floor pan plugs, rear brake lines, fuel lines, correct color undercarriage.....) impossible basically awarding cars no ability to loose points in those areas

Just we're getting off the Thread - ;)
