Painting pot metal???
« on: November 08, 2014, 03:17:20 PM »
I just had some major accident repair done on my 67. Car looks great BUT I had to replace one of my qtr extensions with a repo, the body shop said he had trouble getting the paint on this and look good. Now 3 months later I see many dime size bubbles under the paint on the new qtr extension. How do you guys get paint to stick to pot metal???

Aluminum oxidation must be removed and then sealed to promote good paint adhesion. Follow preparation below with zinc chromate, or epoxy primer.
