I never thought it would happen, but it is time I close a chapter of my life and have decided to sell my 1968 GT/CS S code 4 speed.  It has been Concours restored and is a Multiple Gold Award winner at several MCA National shows as well as a Gold Award winner at SAAC-35. 

It is Highland Green with Ivy Gold standard interior
Front seat headrest
Lower console
Remote Side mirror, matching passenger side mirror
GT390, correct Holley 4V carb, Thermactor smog equipment
Power steering
Power Disc Brakes.
RUG-AD close ratio 4 Speed.
3.25:1 open carrier 9 inch rear.
Wheel well moldings, Bumper Guards
Tilt Steering
AM radio
8000 RPM Tach
Painted Argent Steel Wheels with Firestone Wide Oval bias ply tires.
Tinted Glass
Elite Marti Report

I performed most of the restoration myself, choosing to go the extra mile to insure the work was better than factory.  This car is just as it was when it left the factory and was delivered to Suburban Ford in Sacramento, Ca.  With only the addition of a center console and remote side mirrors.

Thank you folks for the very kind compliments. This was my first car I ever bought and paid for when I was 18 years old. I sold it once and always regretted it and had a chance to buy it back and restore it.  Never dreamed of selling it again.  A painful decision, but this time a better and more acceptable one.  I just hope whoever it goes to can enjoy the car as much as I have.  Thanks again.  Mike

 It is unreasonable to think that you could start off with a 68 Mustang bodied car needing restoration and pay to have a bumper to bumper concours restoration like this one done for 80,000.00 let alone 60,000.00 parts and labor at prevailing shop rates.  It is like you are getting a below market price on a bumper to bumper concours type restoration and getting the car for FREE!!!

Very true, and there are many like that on the market it seems, where you are just paying for the restoration, or less, and getting the car free.
I don't always downshift, but when I do it is near a Prius so they can hear me hurting the environment.

One technical question; is that the original snorkel on the air cleaner?

Have to chuckle since WT8095 just asked about the snorkel. That comment made be noticed that the retaining bolts were not natural  :) not sure how those got by many over the years. Don't think I ever mentioned them  :o

WT8095, That is the correct snorkle for the GT390.  Not in the photo is the S tube connecting it to the heat collector.   Jeff, The screws were painted when the photo was taken, but it was pointed out to me I think by Johnny Garner the first time it was judged and it was quickly changed.  They are natural now.  Thanks again for the kind words.  I will miss her, but I feel it is going to a good home and to the right person to care for it.  I'm OK with it.
