Jeff thanks for the photos,  I am missing the two rear clips. I love this site!   Alan

The water pump type is engine build dependent. Your engine should have a build date about a week to possibly over a month prior to the scheduled assembly line build date (your partial VIN would be around the second week of October). That date is located on a cast in extension of the block in front of the distributor. See the two attached pictures. The actual date is in the form of year, a 5 in your case, a month in letter form ("J" would be September, "H" would be August), a one or two digit number for the day, and a letter for the the assembler or inspector. The picture is from one of my cars, 5H23Z

I've been to Antwerp back in late 1960 on a US Navy Destroyer. Saw the Atomium in Brussels. Impressive.

I don't remember seeing these on my son's 70' Mach I. Can someone post a pic of where these are supposed to go? And it looks like a coupe- fastback takes 4 of them?

Yes it takes two each side.

As for location you could just look for the original mounting holes. To help locate those holes here are some pictures

While this topic is a tad old, I think I'm in a same line of documentation need.

My car, which we baptized "Muscadelle" upon her arrival in our family, is pretty much factory original and now might need a water pump replacement soon.

I would like the replacement pump as close as possible to concours specific.
How should I proceed preferably?

The car has been assembled in okt. 65 in San Jose.

(I'm not aware of concours challenges close to Belgium, Europe, though feel I owe it to my car to keep it original if at all possible.)

We first saw these installed on 69 models after they did away with the vent windows and the support they provided to the side windows especially at highway speeds with the windows up and no vents in the door jamb we start seeing in 70. Not certain exactly the purpose or purposes they were designed to prevent or control but Ford spent money on engineers that determined they were needed and lost of money to have them installed on almost or all passenger cars in 1970.
They "guided" the top of the window to seat into the upper part of the weatherstrip to do as you surmised, noise, also to "prevent" water from seeping in.

Marty : John "beat me" to the Part Number, but by a different method. Instead of the ASSEMBLY manual, I looked at the 1969 Standard and Utility Parts Book. Due to the uniqueness of the cLip, I figured it would be easy to spot. Sure enough, it shoed up (see attached). Note that there is a symbol shown before the part Number ; I couldn't find a legend for this symbol in the 1969 book, but I have a feeling that it might signify " Not Serviced - Factory Only". Then out of curiosity, I looked in the 1965 S&UP book ; it showed op there also (no symbol shown). Then I went back to my 1959 S&UP book (interestingly, the 1959 version also includes applications for most of the Hardware Part Numbers). The 358407 shoeed up in the 1959 with the application listed for the 1958 Convertible Top Storage Compartment. If the 358407 was "Not Serviced", this may help if you can't find a 67 that has these clips. Unfortunately, I won'y know if I have all of mine until I get to our Colorado place (where you may remember my 67 is) until June or July.

Hope this helps.

Bob

Yes, John that is it! Now to find some. It would be a pain to get off a junk car as it is under the top and well Linner.

Thanks again.
