1966 HiPo Clutch Pressure Plate and disc: Are these correct?
« on: March 19, 2018, 11:02:38 PM »
Gents,
The orange dirty clutch pressure plate and disc came out of my 1966 kar.  Notice the two orange paint daubs and stamp on the disc.  Can anyone confirm if these are original?

The newer assembly on the right is one I bought as a rebuilt replacement, however, I notice some differences, specifically where my two fingers are pointing in the last picture.  Can you guys tell me if these are correct for my 1966 kar.  Note:  My engine is a 1965 HiPo engine.  I'm just curious what is correct for my kar.

Thanks,
Evan

Originally the clutch would not have been painted orange. Arms look to suggest aftermarket if I recall correctly

Don't have pictures of all the various aftermarket or makers of clutches over the decades to compare design and feature

I think the hipo pressure plate would have three dimples on the mating surface, at roughly 12, 4 and 8 oclock, in the middle of the mating
surface.     Of course, if its been resurfaced, they're probably gone.

I've heard the same thing but this may be a 50+ year old pressure plate.   I'm just surprised there aren't other ways to identify it with markings and what not.
