What did the early black out pinch weld look like on Aug.64 Mustang?

What I have is from the end of the month (examples)  None on dark colors such as dark green - lighter colors appear to be sprayed. Plenty of threads on this often used method in the 65-66 section ;)

As usual - applied before front fenders were installed. Soft not hard tapped edge with overspray onto the floor surfaces (more the closer you get to the rocker) with the rocker producing a shadow directly behind. Also dusted or directly applied to panels hanging down such as the front frame rail and the surface directly in front of the rear spring forward mounting area. Also, if a convertible) the outer edge of the seat platform/support brace

Hope this helps

Yours appears to be much earlier so not sure if these apply
On earlier cars found a share of brushed pinch welds

This example (5F08C272xxx) appears to have been cleaned allot - down to the exterior color on the floor. Some of the black overspray appears to remain. Distance on the rocker appears very shallow compared to other examples from other plants or other times we've seen

This example (5F08C727xxx) had the pinch behind the wheelwells done with a brush - or at least appears that way in the picture. Likely missed when the rockers were done, caught by an inspector and corrected down the line some where. Have a dark green car from the same period without the pinch welds blacked out.

It does look like it was sprayed as it's black on top or above pinch weld and looks strange on rocker. If it was brushed the pattern wouldn't be as wide as it is on top and the bottom of floor is strange as the black looks like it was shot before the white color and I don't know really how to read that picture?

Not sure where your seeing "the white color" but IMHO its apparent that a PO just blacked out the undercarriage/coated the floor like was often done. Notice that the dolly marks are long gone ;)

Is the back side of pinch weld blacked out also over on the floor? Also the one pic has a wide stripe on rocker on upper section so did it look the same on non rocker trim Dearborn car?

No since the paint was applied from outside the body aiming inward the back side of the pinch weld and a short section of floor (the shadow behind it) was produced during the application

Also the one pic has a wide stripe on rocker on upper section so did it look the same on non rocker trim Dearborn car?

Can you clarify which picture your referring to

Moving this thread back to the body and paint section of this site ;)
