65-66 A/C unit drain hose hole
« on: July 22, 2010, 11:19:31 AM »
Anyone have a picture handy of a factory-made hole that the A/C unit drain hole goes through?  Looking for approximate location.  Evidently, early cars did not have the dimple like later.

From inside the car?  When I get home later tonight I can take a picture of the AC unit and hose and do some measurements...

Crappy photo, but you can see the hole.  9/65 scheduled build San Jose car if you care.

Is the hole size supposed to be 1 inch?  I would love to see pics of the A/C unit in place showing the hose w/o cover and w/cover.  Also does anyone have a pic of what the hose looks like protruding from the underside?  Thanks for all the help!

PS  I'm missing the right side cover if anyone has one for sale.

Hi All,
Looking to confirm air conditioner drain hole position for Sept 65 SJ convertible. I have several photos but am confused as to what is original and what is not. Did the factory hole ever change position? Also was the hose style ever changed? This is what I have as far as hose and what I think is the correct position so far.

Thanks in advance,
Daniel.

That hose is correct for 66. They do not reproduce the 65 hose but what I did was use the PVC hose and made the hole bigger where it connects to the AC unit and took off the part number

That info was exactly what I needed too Chris. Jeff, thanks once more for your help with the pic. Perfect for what i'm after. I did not even know of the two different hoses and hole placements until I read that. Much appreciated! (I am guessing that the 66 hole is lower down on the tunnel right?)

Have found them in the exact same location (on San Jose cars) as in the picture I posted on 66's
