Guess we'll have to disagree about the bracket

Here is another picture from 67 with the bracket not attached to the valve. Thee 390 Mustang valve was not used for the GT500 application. The GT500 used the same three port valve as the 289 where the 390 used the two port. Wasn't like they installed the whole 390 Thermactor assembly and left it at that. Number of other parts are different between the two systems also.

Not really because when I said same part (Thermactor anti-back fire valve) I did not mention or mean to imply the bracket.

Top right picture in my post above is a NOS/service replacement
That may be what NPD is selling.

The 67 GT500 would use the same part as the 67 390 4V in this instance. FYI the 67 GT500 is the same 67 428 PI engine but with duel fours added.

I suppose one without a date is better then one with the wrong date. The date is easy enough to stamp if it bothers you. https://www.npdlink.com/product/cap-kit-power-steering-valve-spool-centering-spring/149040?

The date code is stamped on the cap. Rebuilders mix the parts up so the date stamp becomes meaningless.

Illustration to show details and the date stamp on the assembly line caps

Turns out that this is a 1967 390-4V/410/428 bracket.  A friend gave this to me, and he normally deals in Galaxies and Thunderbirds, so is likely a 428 part, which would make it the C6AE-2B290-C.  The Mustang 1967 390-4V would have used C6OE-2B290-C.  What about the GT500 428 PI engine - which of these would that have used?  The 428 PI drawing shows C6AE-2B290-C, but that is geared towards a police car not a Shelby.

A couple of pictures to add to the discussion

What about the GT500 428 PI engine - which of these would that have used?

Given the different intake and multiple carbs the valve was not attached like the 390 Mustangs/Cougars

Hoses were shortened and the valve was mounted right above and behind the pump and was held in place by just the rubber hoses attached to valve. Yes there is an incorrect non original hose clamp in picture

Ya wanna fix some more "2's" to "9's"?  ;)

The important thing is that the hydraulic line style changed maybe around 1974. You can't easily use the later line style on the earlier cars and vice - versa. The cap can be swapped to fix the date issue. Often the attaching screws are changed to a later style allen cap screw head too. The screws on a 1960's era control valve would be a integral washer filister head with a straight slot screw drive.
