On a 1969 SJ FB, should the studs that attach the round running horse emblems have body paint on them?
Trying to determine if this car has original paint, or has had some post factory paint applied.
Thanks!

Sure they should.
Just look at it logically, the line wouldn't sting those on there to a freshly painted body.

The studs for the quarter emblems on a Mach I had to be attached to the body panel before paint. Emblems were added much later
Installing the emblems often knocks/rubs/chips off some paint from the mounting studs but often leaves some also
So they can (if original paint) often have paint on the studs - at least some/most of them in my experience

Sportsroofs also had the emblem studs attached before paint. I had to replace one on a friend's 69 Mustang that got snapped off in a repaint, with a small screw. It didn't work, so I used double sided tape.

We both missed Boss 429's also (Boss 302's didn't) as they had the same emblems if we're trying to be exact

Thanks Gents.
I purchased a pretty cool car today.
More to come as it arrives at its new home.
