Title: Travelers Sheet
Post by: J_Speegle on October 15, 2009, 08:38:45 PM
Charles and I found this a few weeks ago during a hunting adventure (wrecking yard hunt of course) Thought I would share this since I would guess they are not typically found.

Often referred to as Traveler's Sheets this I believe were forms that inspectors used to identify short falls in the process and where corrections needed to be made. In this example (like a couple of early car examples I found) it appears that the body work or paint was not up to standard and parts were redone - evidence is the overspray on the form from a respray. Looks like the form was folded and tucked into the body where it received overspray from the process

And one from a SVO that was shared.

Appears all have in common that there was a paint finish problem where the form was rolled up or tucked somewhere in the body as it was resprayed or touched up as evident from all the overspray on the forms when found. Have a 71-73 exterior travelers also that showed dirt in the passenger side paint and it was resprayed. Form had overspray on it also
