Title: 66 San Jose disk brake bleeder screws
Post by: slk25 on June 13, 2013, 10:25:39 PM
My car was built in March of 66 with the KH disc brakes.
On the bleeder screw was a black cap that has split.
I cannot find it in the NPD or VA Mustang catalogues, is it not standard or something available at the local NAPA store?
Is it required or should it be left off?
Thanks for your help.

What color is the bleeder screw for the KH disk brakes?  Silver or gold?  Also, is it 3/8" or 1/4"?  OK, I know, dumb question so please don't chew me out again!

Caliper is 3/8 and brake cylinder is 1/4 . The replacement brake cylinders are typically 3/8. The bleeders typically are gold.

JEFF.

im not doubting your knowledge and vast collection of pictures for one moment, I have found these little cute rubbers on two separate unrestored SJ cars with disk brakes over the years. Who or when they where added will remain a mystery to me. just sparked something in my head when SLK25 posted the question.

regards.
