65 1 speed v. 2 speed wiper bracket

Well, found out something else I never realized yesterday while working on the '65 K convertible.  The car originally had the Visibility Group, which included 2 speed windshield wipers.  I have the motor off of the under-dash bracket for detailing/restoring.  Was stripping the original bracket in the blast cabinet and it was taking a long time to get the paint off.  Decided to check the 2 brackets from the parts coupes.  Held up the brackets next to each other, just to make sure...  Well, dang if they aren't different!  While physically they appear the same, the holes for the wiper mounting are in totally different places for a single speed and 2-speed.  Just something else to add to the memory bank and give anyone a heads up if they decide they want to swap to a 2-speed setup.  Might have been changed in '66, not sure.  The reference cars I'm dealing with are late January, early February '65 from the San Jose plant.

My car came with a 65 2 speed wiper motor, bracket and wiring.
I am converting to another system (F150 intermittent) that requires a 1 speed bracket.
Right -- they are very different. This post is about identifying the brackets (not the conversion).

In searching for a 1 speed bracket either everyone online (like ebay) is confused or I am. Both maybe?
There are multiple posts showing a 2 speed as the 1 speed and visa-versa.

The 2 speed bracket has three holes for the rubber mount and a larger/largest hole for the wiper arm itself. There is also an intermediate hole, but ignore that.
Take the rubber mount holes and draw a virtual triangle around the outside of these mount holes.
You will see that larger hole is mostly outside of the triangle.

The 1 speed bracket also has three holes for the rubber mount and a large hole for the wiper arm.
If you again take the rubber mount holes and draw your triangle you will see that the larger hole is mostly inside of the triangle.

What you have proved is that they are "different". "Ford Car Parts" (68 ed, text 17496, aka MPC) shows three different versions, with one possibly for a 64.
This is not a "standard" upgrade, so improvise.

Note that the bracket that is spot welded to the cowl is also part number 17496. Per the description in the MPC it is noted as "on inner cowl panel" with a part number of C5ZZ-17496-A. Yet another case of Ford using the same base part number for two different things.

The two brackets to which the motor attaches are called out as C5ZZ-17496-B for single and C5ZZ-17496-C for two speed. They are "different" because you cannot bolt a 2 speed wiper to a 1 speed bracket and visa-versa.

The fact that I'm doing an intermittent conversion has nothing to do with this. If you are converting from a single to two speed wiper requires you change the removable bracket, the motor, the wiring and the switch. Knowing the differences in the brackets is important.
