66 GT350 Tach Mounting
« on: May 16, 2015, 10:34:39 PM »
Shared these pictures a while back on another forum - figured I should post them here to help out some member in the future

Mounting screws

Mounting and electrical holes in dash pad. Notice the tube inserts to guard against collapsing the dash pad when tightening the mounting screws

Nice. Little different than carryrover 66's that use 65 dash pad. They have a thin flat pad under tach. Looks like bake o lite

Yes building the early cars is where Shelby apparently discovered the problem and the tubes were the fix or way they addressed it.

even with the tubes there is a depression in the pad.

If the depression is more pronounce then any in the first post I would review your procedures to see what is different, missing or that you are doing wrong. Worst case scenario you can make up some longer spacer tubes.
