Got a DSO 41 / Chicago? Please read
« on: December 02, 2017, 11:10:49 AM »
I'm curious to know if any of you with a DSO code of 41/Chicago know exactly which Ford company your car was shipped to and sold at. I'm curious to know which cities/towns around the Chicago DSO that Mustangs were shipped to.

Please let me know the Ford Dealership, town and state.

Thank you!

I'm looking for anyone with a first generation mustang that has a DSO 41/Chicago that happens to know which dealership, town/city, state their mustang was sold from.

Yes, you are in the right forum.

My point is that if you are looking for something for a May 66 car, and someone replies that their August 64 DSO 41 car was sold at dealer X in town Y, by the time May 66 rolled around that dealer might not have existed, or it was known by another name.

If you are looking to create a database of all DSO 41 possibilities for 64-1/2 through 66 then the answers you get should be what you are looking for.

I just wanted to make sure your needs are met.

My needs will be met with anyone owning a first generation mustang with a DSO 41/Chicago that responds with the Ford Dealership, Town/City, State it was sold at.  I came to this website because I figured many on here would know this specific information about their mustangs.

Thank you Mustang owners!

Keep in mind that the DSO is simply where the order came from, it may or may not indicate the region a car was sold originally.

+1 Most of the time they do match ( origination of the order and delivery) but not always creating some interesting/odd combinations

Correct regarding DSO and actual dealership sold.  My SJ built '65 Fastback's DSO is Denver but was sold in the Los Angeles area.

No way of tracking or knowing (not as popular as today likely due to the lack of computer systems) would be dealer transfers for those dealer stock cars. Of course there were allot less of those types of cars (companies didn't stock pile as much inventory in those days) back in the day but it does add another possible wrinkle.  Of course emission standard was another detail that got in the way of some of this for 66-67 as well as 70 and on certain models in later years.
