Decals for 1966 GT Metuchen Build April 12 1966
« on: December 28, 2017, 07:42:13 PM »
I have read numerous posts on suggested or required decals  for my car. Seems to be conflicting opinions, perhaps due to various threads of emails and plant build locations.

Concours guidelines in  section CC on page 12 indicate that these are required to avoid point deductions.: service specification, autolite spark plug, engine ID, air cleaner service instruction, cubic inch air cleaner and battery test(filled out with specific gravity or voltage.

Are above all that are required ? Others below optional and/or suggested?

Decal on top of master cylinder required?
Black or red P with square corners, on cowl on drivers side required/suggested?
Autolite battery tag on group 24 battery required/suggested?
Tire pressure tag in glove box needed?
I assume miscellaneous wire tags not required?

If I am missing any please let me know.

I have jacking instructions decal already in trunk and service decal in engine compartment.
I have engine ID decal, C1 235S, for ignition coil, horizontal mount, not installed yet.
I have 289 cu in 4V premium fuel decal. Will install on snorkel air cleaner assembly after it's painted.

I have read that there is no real detail on how battery decal should be filled out? Better to just put it on blank? Or, to just not put in on? Point deduction if blank or not on?

Any pics regarding decal always appreciated.

Welcome to the site - Hope you find the information here helpful in your restoration related endeavors

Not sure if your asking for judging purposes or what was there originally. Could you clarify?

If for only judging purposes will move it to that section and would suggest that you also ask over on the MCA site since its their rules your askign about

Will answer the following based on how the cars were originally built.

Decal on top of master cylinder required?

Not for your car - Wrong time period

Black or red P with square corners, on cowl on drivers side required/suggested?

Your looking at the wrong cars for examples. Those stickers were something used at Dearborn

Autolite battery tag on group 24 battery required/suggested?

Your car likely didn't come with a grp 24 battery and the reproduction doesn't look much like an original. Guess your asking about the tag around the post

Tire pressure tag in glove box needed?

Yes of course that is the way the car was typically built
