I think it is very difficult to know from a picture. but I looked at my 1968 Ford fleet book and it looks like WT 2813, Gray metallic. It is a nice color.  I like that color on your car. Looks good!

Too bad none of the original paint was left for you to compare - have seen a few other special order paint cars (different years) painted a similar or same color. For those without a fleet book IMHO is a fairly straight forward silver metallic IMHO

Im fairly sure the paint behind the rear seat and behind and under the rear quarter trim panels is original (see attached pic), plus on the underside of the bootlid. And also those sections under the sill finisher plate.

But like you say, its very hard to tell from a photo and also out of natural daylight. I'll get the car out of the garage shortly now I have it running again, and take some more photos and also take it to a paint shop.
