Title: Boss 351 carb float level
Post by: Stillakid54 on August 07, 2016, 11:37:41 AM
I am trying to reset the float level for my Autolite 4300-d carb. No success so far on the boss forum or internet scouring +++. Could anyone help me with these values? Thanks in advance.

Do you have a copy of the shop manual?

I have a complete (?) 71 mustang one, I think four volumes, but interestingly the 4300-d is not covered in the carb section...rats.

The 4300 requires a simple tool be fabricated to check the level of the "pontoon" type of floats, and most applications are 13/16 in my experience.  Do you have the secondary needle and seat in yours?  If so there are two float levels to set.

Normally the float settings along with other important specs are included with a rebuild kit.
