Title: Replacement Master Cylinder
Post by: johnkn on December 23, 2016, 07:34:53 PM
Greetings, I'm about to replace what may be the original MC on #383.  Are there any new single MCs that are superior to others?  If those one proves to be original I'll put it in a box for safe keeping.  Thank you...

Guessing by your post that you have a 65 or 66 Shelby so we're dealing with the single reservoir master cylinders that was shared with the disc brake equipped Mustangs.  Of course you will be looking for one that matches the original design (no seats/brass adapter verses with seats and no brass adapters)  Not sure if Bendix is still making them but might start there. Haven't heard anything negative from owners using the current "reproduction" and not sure if there is more than one current maker of these so the question may be moot

Why not rebuild what you have?  Probably will end up better than a cheap overseas rebuild.

If you watch eBay patiently a NOS one appears every now and then.
