Title: Boss 351 - Cam ID question
Post by: svo2scj on April 28, 2011, 09:31:42 PM
Just took apart the rebuilt short block that came with one of my Boss 351's.

Need to know if anyone has an NOS  D1ZZ-6250-B or can confirm color codes for Ford cam?

Cam has Red (between the first and second lobes and Green at the rear) over a  K167.
REAR OF CAM HAS Numbers 1214 stamped in.

Mark
P.S. Also has CWC - but I understand that this was the Campbell Wyatt and Cannon Foundry in MI

I don't have info on color codes or marks but didn't that cam have the mark "BY" in the location of last lobe and journal ?

Are you looking for a replacement cam- Boss 351 solid lifter etc ? The Boss 351 cam was identical grind to the Boss 302. I know where you can get the cam.

By the way have any Boss 351 distributor parts ? I need a good distributor cam.

Hi
Got alot of info on the BOSS site.   This cam isn't an NOS Ford (I knew about the BY for that)

Looks like I've got everything I need for the rebuild (haven't settled on pistons yet)  Going to put off til I get back from Carlisle -JUST INCASE I FIND SOME.    RIght now have SPeed pro flat tops and JE Dome.  If I can find some .030 Stock Ford that is what I would prefer (for this car)

P.S.  I only have my Autolite Dualpoint - BUT will ask Bill if he has a cam.  (Where are you/Are you going to PA)

Originally from PA but now in FLA. Usually try to make Carlisle on the Friday and Saturday but not going this year. Plans could always change though ! Please let me know if you ever come across distributor cam for dual point distributor. Thanks.
