70 Boss 302 Cowl Brace Reinforcement Bracket
« on: December 22, 2014, 11:25:54 AM »
I found this thread about the bracket, but wondered if anyone has located a source to buy this piece repro that is correct?  Or am I stuck with making one as described here?

Jim I thought these were being reproduced. Will look through the catalogs to see if I can find a listing

Merry Christmas

Thanks Jeff, and Merry Christmas to you, and congrats for what you and Charles have accomplished here.

When I see a bracket in a catalog, it always reads to me like the Shelby GT350 bracket.  Not sure though whether I am just reading the description with an overly cautious eye.

I have often wondered why the bracket was used on b2s  & 65-68 shelbys & b9s used export braces  but the 69-70 428 cj scj mustang cougar nor shelbys  used any extra support especially a cj convertible

Different shape and thickness - but basically same principle just done much cheaper (not welded to the car like in 65-66

I will probably give that one a try.  I may have a chance to buy it in person on my way to FL next month, and will try to take the dimensions from the previous thread with me to check it out.

rockhouse66, I made a run of these for myself and the guys over on the BOSS 302 Registry that are exact to the original.  I have one left and can sell it to for $27.00 including shipping.

Let me know and I can give you my PayPal account.

I purchased on the these reproductions and ..... man it is nice. I had the original, and wanted to compare. Figured I could use the new piece on the next project.

Well bought Jim.
