good source for used parts
« on: June 06, 2010, 03:20:14 PM »
Hi,
I need to find some engine parts for my feb 65 a code auto,
Google searches bring up pages and pages mostly of companies selling new parts
I am having no luck with ebay or craigs list, or anything else for that matter.
Does anyone know of a good mustang wrecker that has fair prices?

or does anyone have these parts?
I am after a 4v carb (c5zf-d or f) and spacer
a distributor  (c5of-12131-a)
a non A/C ,P/S crankshaft pulley  has a 12 groove out front and a 3/8 rear,
a water pump pulley (c5oe-8509-a)
also correct intake and exhaust manifolds  c5oe-9425-a c or m (intake)

Any help is appreciated

Graeme

The challenge is that even good yards will not take the time to look/search for specific castings or date codes.  So you might want to post what part of the country you are located in, then you can visit one or more in person and hope that they will allow you to look.  Very difficult to get in the yard in many locations

Also - if you have not already - post an want in the Wanted Section of this site and others. Most will not respond to a list of needs posted in these threads since it only invites others to do the same ;)

Swap meets are great places.  Many people are selling there used parts they replaced with repros for no other reason the they were too lazy to clean them up.  You just really need to know what your looking for to spot a good part in a pile of other junk.

 ??? Hi Graeme;

I may have most of what you are looking for.  I apologize if you have contacted me in the last few weeks.  I have been very busy on a project, and have missed getting back to a couple of members regarding engine parts.  I have parted a few 65-66's lately, and have a lot of 289 stuff.  Are you looking for specific date codes?

Will be back in touch soon, or you can call me at 541-973-6211
