68 GT 350 leaf springs
« on: November 13, 2022, 11:20:03 AM »
I am working on a 68 GT 350 convertible 2646 built 03/11/68. At some point the leaf springs were replaced with some D0ZA 5556-G springs (for a Boss 429). I am looking for someone that may have a car built near that date that can tell me what part numbers are on their springs. The MPC lists C7ZA 5556-AL or AM springs. I am looking to buy entire set of original springs or just the bottom leaves.

Marty regardless of what the book says I typically see the AR marked springs on competition suspension (Shelby) 68's . As far as the AM marked springs the book calls out I found that early 67 competition suspension cars used AM before changing over to AR shortly after the first of the year 67.

Our 68 GT 350 fastback 602 built 12 02-67 has C7ZA 5556-AR springs. I just wanted to check and see if the AR springs were used throughout the production. Am I correct in assuming that same springs were used on both Shelby fastbacks and convertibles?

Those Boss springs come up for sale more seldom then the AR springs.

68 CJ Mustangs also used the AR rear springs.
