Unrestored - 68 GT350
« on: February 02, 2017, 10:10:31 PM »
Disclaimer: :) As always we need to warn that unrestored does not always mean unaltered by previous owners. Just because this car has/had a specific detail does not mean your car was built just the same. Always do your research, document your findings and make the best choice for you and your expectations.

Not certain of when or where these pictures were taken or why I only have engine compartment shots but I hope that they will foster discussion and help others in their concours related discussions. The cars particle VIN is 8T02J1788xx with a buck tag date in late Feb.

There are signs of some engine rattle can touch up and some black rattle can on the inner fender panels. As always hope this helps others

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

E1 Front of the engine has been touched up

E2 Overspray on the front runner of the exhaust manifold. Looking closely the second runner appears to have it also but in a color similar to the original engine color but very weak and may not show well in the picture posted

E3 Hood hinge spring as been painted black

E4 Nice shot showing  sealer around passenger side openings

E5 Side and rear of the intake and 4300 Autolite carb

E6

Thank you.  Are there any pics of the rest of the car? Or would the owner prefer they are not published?

Don't know when or where I got these pictures in the last couple of years but that is all I have of this car. Was relabeling and resizing them for filing and thought I would post them.

I get that.  Cool that you find, and get the opportunity to photo, these rare cars.

Some really cool Unrestored cars can be seen at MCA/SAAC shows.  Worth attending.

I've been blessed and thank all that have contributed over the last 30 or so years. Owners and shops from all over the world have sent pictures and even multiple CD's of pictures of cars they were disassembling or just have run across knowing that I collected and shared the information provided.

Ebay over time has provided some great cars - other times not so much  ::) local and national shows, even swap meets as well as auctions.  Other times I simply run across cars in shops that I visit or get invited to travel when a shop/restorer gets what is reported to be a really untouched example. But you can be sure I don't attend many without a camera.

Guess this is a great time to say a big THANKS  to all that have given a little or allot of support over the years

Interesting that the white spark plug wire separator is on the LH side of the engine. I could not see any on the RH side.

Good eye - know that was a discussion in another thread (68 wire separators) Wish I had a couple more pictures of this car to help :(

We've found them on left and right but always other side was black. It's a goofy thing that I thought was PO till I saw second then third....   Strange it's only J codes.  Thought for a while it was thermactor but have found on IMCOs too
