Window Felt Change Over Date
« on: February 10, 2011, 03:32:09 PM »
When was the approximate change over date from the all black window felt to the one with the chrome top?  Was it around the same time as the door lock plungers going from color keyed to chrome?

Believe is was later in production, like Fall of '64.  The color-key door lock knobs were phased out around June of '64.

Would October be too late or would they be chrome by that time?

Possibly, but that's probably about when they were changed.  Nobody would question if you use the regular stainless ones.  If you find enough compelling evidence for the black ones, you can swap them out later.

While we're at it, what about Dearborn?

Should fall into the same time frame.
