65/65 Defrost Ducts
« on: July 31, 2011, 09:11:49 PM »
I'm sure my ducts are original.   ;)  The top sculptured fitting that sits on the radio speaker ledge has deteriorated to a point that there is not much left.  I wonder if anyone has an idea of how to get a pair?  I'm thinking of making a set of molds and using a dark gray pulp slurry to make them?

Yes,  I'm a little eccentric.

I DO NOT want the plastic repops.

I also want to come up with a way to make the wiper arm cover that keeps under-dash wires out of theworking wiper arms.

Bryan, You should be able to get an original one from a dealer that has a mustang junkyard. I know All Classic Motors has them. Also NPD has a good paper copy of the original wiper arm shield (Link Below).

Thanks a lot Dave.  I hadn't even searched for the wiper arm cover.  I just assumed no one would make a cardboard one.

I'm gonna call Glazier or All Classic Motors.

I have a cache of OEM original ducts for 65-66. Let me know if you still are looking for a pair. Dave

I am happy to wait in line behind Brian, but if there is more than one set in your "cache", please let me know the details!
Thank you!

I found at least 2 sets of good defroster ducts complete with the OEM cardboard ends on them. Not mint, but considering they are 45 years old, they are in pretty decent shape. I will take some pics and get back to both of you.
