Topic: MAR 66 METUCHEN 289 HEATER HOSE ROUTING

Still didn't find my info.

On my MAR 66 289 New Jersey car, how should the two heater hoses be routed?   The Bob Mannel book doesn't have picture.  The Ford service manual isn't accurate, because it covers several cars.  The Osborne book show 2 different ways. 

Please show me which way is right someone.

I have the upper hose laying on the intake manifold, against the valve cover, and going straight to the water pump.  It is squeezed a little by the coil.
I have the lower hose passing inside the upper hose and then to the bracket that holds it against the choke housing, and the curving left into the intake manifold 90 degree fitting.

I have all spark plug wires on top of the heater hoses.

From a functional point of view, it doesn't matter which hose goes where.  I've seen diagrams both ways.

If you cannot find the definitive answer, here's my recommendation: place the hose going TO the heater along side the carb housing as it will be a slight bit hotter than the return hose and will open the choke that much quicker.  Not much difference, but some.

The top hose from the core runs along the top of the intake and go's to the waterpump.The lower hose goes to the chock and then to the intake fitting.
