Need PPG code for Wimbledon white
« on: July 14, 2014, 05:45:45 AM »
Hi,
I had a little accident with my 66 Fastback and need a modern PPG version of the Whimbledon White color.
Trying to find the old code, 8378,  in today's system did not succeed.
thanks for any help!

Hi,

I'd restored a 65 wimbledon white. The best thing I found was to match the paint from a part of your car (e.g a headlight bezel, etc). Or just wait until the new Mustang arrive at the dealerships and workshops, so you could ask for the WW code of the Limited Edition.

Don't know if anyone has done a reformulation of most of the original colors in the modern paints and toners. IF they have they are not sharing the mix but instead selling the paint.

Since Wimbleton white is a very popular car you might get lucky with an individual owner - if they attached the mix to the outside of the can they had made up

Good luck with your search Claes

I called the shop I buy my paint(PPG) from and that 8378 is a good number and you can get it mixed any way you want, DBC to Delstar. Need help, email me.

Thanks all for your suggestions!
The part of the car that was hit has been painted - it is perfectly painted but not perfectly matched...
it is not a panic situation as the car should be Arcadian Blue  - and will be so in due time, but it could have been closer.

Getting a recipy for this paint is not as easy over here (Sweden) as it may be on your side of the big pond.
