Title: Fitment of Repro. '67-68 Coupe Rear Window Gasket?
Post by: drummingrocks on July 09, 2017, 11:41:06 AM
Has anyone experienced one of the Daniel Carpenter rear window gaskets for a '67-68 coupe being too large?  I replaced the gasket in my '67 coupe several years ago, and had a heck of a time getting the bottom stainless piece to snap back in place.  I finally got it close and left it, even though it obviously wasn't completely seated in the clips.

It seems like I've read where others have had the same problem, leading to some speculation about the gasket being too large.  That's certainly been my experience.  With the window centered in the opening, there's just way too much thickness at the bottom of the rear window for everything to fit properly.

Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, what did you do?  I thought about trying one of the other brand of rear window gaskets...but I figured those were cheaper for a reason.
