Quarter Window Rollers
« on: July 06, 2010, 05:46:07 PM »
I'm in the process of stripping down my rear quarter window frames to be re-chromed and as I'm drillling out the rivets on the rollers I'm finding out these are not reproduced. What have others done? I see ebay has NOS at $10 each, is that the only route or can the originals be reused (although mine don't look reuseable).

Thanks,

Greg

I usually leave the originals in place.  The chrome plater can work around them.

Thanks Charles, I only removed 1 of the 6 until I got some clarification. So they can work around the plastic roller? At $60 for NOS rivets, do you think the rechromers charge extra for having to work around them?

I've had Qual Krom do maybe 4-5 sets for me, don't think they ever charged any extra for the rollers being left in place.
