Original Assembly Brake Pedal Pad?.... Date codes

Hi,

My father found at home a brake pedal pad of our 1965 Mustang...he don't remember very well if this pad was the original that came new on the car back in 1965.. here are a pair of pics..... I wonder about the numbers that it has at the very right... is it a date code?.... in this case it has EC65....
