Fold down release latches

This weekend I saw a 65 and 66 fastback plus a 66 GT350 and they all had only one release latch for the fold down seat (passenger side). Since my 67 has two I always assumed there was two from the start. When was the change made? One of the owners said it always rattled and he wedged a piece of carpet to stop it or keep the seat down.

Did the two latches become the standard from then on?

Two latches were first used in 67, one on each side.
