difference between 93 and 94 distributors
« on: February 11, 2018, 10:41:48 AM »
Doing a street rod and using a 94 5.0 GT motor and the wiring kit says to backdate to a 93 dist. What is the difference? Major or minor?

I built a remote TFI system for my race car -- put the TFI on the firewall, not the distributor -- and suffice to say there are many wiring issues between the many years of TFI modules and how the distributor is wired.
If I remember right there are a lot plug changes of the many electrical components on the 94/95 versus the earlier cars -- including the distributor.

If you want to know the changes to just the distributor/TFI:

It's easier to just buy another distributor than mess with any of this. For most of the wiring kits (like Painless) start with a complete 93 or earlier car/motor.
