Title: '66 289--Finish on Underside of Air Cleaner Lid?
Post by: drummingrocks on June 02, 2010, 08:36:29 PM
I've got a '66 fastback with a 289 4V.  The car was built December 20th, 1965.  I know the outside of the air cleaner is Ford blue, but how about the underside of the air cleaner lid?  Was it originally painted on the underside, or should it be bare metal?

It would have just been a bare steel with some speckling of blue over spray.  The gasket would not have any paint on it.
