Title: Crankcase Ventilation System decal
Post by: Hillary Noye on September 08, 2017, 05:49:17 AM
G'day all

1967 GTA 289 4v SJ July 6th July build - convertible

I am struggling to understand where the Crankcase Ventilation System decal would have been originally placed.

I have searched the  library and net

Advice would be appreciated ..

Regards

Hillary

I believe that it was a ring that went around the PCV valve.

Have a picture of the decal?

Not everyone used the same terms for everything.  Where did you find the term used?  A list somewhere?  Consider the fact that they sell more decals than the cars were built with and sometimes there are decals included or listed that are not correct for the application

Thanks everyone

Yes Jeff - I have thrown away a number of decals - i had to hunt this one down.
From MOCA detailing concours guidelines - "1967 Air cleaner Crankcase vent decal C1AE-6A720-A"

My best guess would be the breather cap decal considering the part number starting with C1AE

So it would be placed on the top surface of the breather cap. The challenge IMHO is that IMHO these were not originally used but you have to make a choice between original and how the organization expects things to be.   ::)  Base of the requirement is likely older (or possibly current) MCA rules that were shared with MOCA

Thanks Jeff

The breather cap decal tat is a different one

Picture attached i would assume it would be placed on the hose form the PCV but where on that hose ?

Appreciate your thoughts.

Don't believe that decal is correct for your application. As aside never seen a sticker or decal on the PVC hose of a classic Mustang or Shelby originally

Ok ...

As you said perhaps a mistake in the concours guidelines - they have the part listed for 64-5-6-7

Another decal not found but nut to be placed ....

Again many thanks
