Vent Windows / Quarter Windows
« on: August 12, 2009, 01:03:36 PM »
Got my vent and quarter windows rechromed and trying to get them back together but this is what I have found.

The screws holes are different now, I am having a hard time getting the screws to set and it's taking alot of effort to get them in.

It is hard to get a pop rivet tool inside the channel to put the rivets back in on the vent windows, this is the stainless piece that runs vertical.

Not sure what to do about this, I saw some rivet nuts that seem to be easy to use... not sure what to do, thought about taking them to the local glass shop but don't want to risk scratching the chrome.

Whenever you get frames back run a tap through all threaded holes before you put them in the car. You can get a long snout rivet gun but its just as easy to put 1/2 dozen or so small washers on the rivet shank before it goes in the gun.
