Topic: What does this spacer do?

Was sorting parts and came accross this.  Need to make sure I don't need it.  It's a spacer that goes between the fuel pump and block, but what year/motor/purpose I have no idea.

Fuel pump adapter - Plate looks like it adapts a ford style to a small block Chevy but off hand don't remember the mounting flange for a small block Chevy  but the outer/ larger shape seems to fit my memory.
