Original tyres
« on: September 15, 2012, 07:22:17 AM »
Hi,
My 67 gta mustang came with 185r14 radial white sidewall tyres as a factory option.
My question is, where can I get a similar type of tyre that looks as original as the factory ones?
What brand tyres were they?
Cheers

I am not aware of any radial tires being a factory option. And isn't 185R14 is a newer designation than when these cars were built. Usually 6.95-14 or optional wide ovals or 7.35-14. Mine came with the optional 7.35-14 WW.

Yes the 185-R14 Radial WSW was a 67 option. I am not sure if Coker Tire has them. You might try contacting them.

I learned something, I'll need to go back to the options lists and do some studying. Thanks

According to the 67 Mustang order form the radial tires are listed as 7.35X14. I believe that size was converted to FR 70 X 14 68-73 model years.

Ford usually refered to them as 7.35 x 14, but there are a few places - like on the pricing sheets - where the 185 R14 designation was also used...
