Title: Master Cylinder and Brake Booster Rebuild
Post by: Adwear on September 26, 2016, 11:15:09 PM
Does anyone have a recommendation for a company that rebuilds Master Cylinders and Brake Boosters for my 1970 Boss 302? I am aware of A-1 Cardone, but my concern would be getting my original parts back.

Any feedback would be appreciated

Thank you,

Bob

If you have your original cylinder, you might consider this as a do-it-yourself job. Kits are available at Napa stores etc. Not much involved and as long as you know how to seat the forward-most piston on front side of the center stop bolt (center stop bolt is not used on later designs), very little could go wrong. Lubricate the seals with the kind of brake fluid you intend to use and assure yourself the seals are installed facing the correct directions (note this upon disassembly) and most 8-year-olds could do this job ;)

I agree on the rebuild. I suspect my OEM Bendix Master Cylinder will need a sleeve because of corrosion. That is why I need a pro builder. Any suggestions?

These guys have done a few for me with no issues.  Booster Dewey is great for the Booster.   Good Luck!

whitepost.com was recommended to me and I was pleased with the job they did on my master cylinder and proportioning valves. Might call them and ask.
