At the plant likely for lining up the sub-structure in a jig to produce a subassembly

Nothing attaches there on a completed Mustang

1967 Shelby / Re: How to ID NOS stripe kit
« Last post by Bob Gaines on April 16, 2024, 10:19:22 PM »
For what it is worth the stripe kits that Branda sells unless something has changed are sourced from a MFG that uses original 3M stripe material and are copied using originals as patterns. With that said using a stripe kit from multiple different kits from most likely different stripe run batch's would have a high probability of not matching. Also with the old stripe kits the tendency for the adhesive to dry up is common. To your question there were various ID differences over the years on service stripe kits. I wanted to point out some information that you may not have considered before spending a lot of time trying to piece together a mis matched stripe kit. The best results can be expected from ether a new stripe kit made from the same stripe run that is done after factory original or a complete matching original kit  . The only problem with the complete original kit is that you may find out sometimes (not always) after applying a portion of the kit that a section or two or three may have had the adhesive dry up.

1969 Mustang / Steering wheel
« Last post by lmennis on April 16, 2024, 09:59:37 PM »
My car has an original 2 spoke steering wheel which is cracked and showing signs of wear. Rather than replace it with the same, I want to upgrade to the rim blow steering wheel which looks much better. I've heard that the reproductions are not the greatest and that most of the time the horn cannot be used as the reproductions do not function properly. I know it is possible to get a restored original one but they are quite expensive. If I install a different steering wheel that is not for 1969 it would not be period correct and would require an adaptor I believe. Any advice or suggestions?

What is the plating color on the taillight buckets? I have a hard time telling if it's clear zinc or cad. Any help?

I don't have the old liner.
you have to think out side the box. Maybe try picking up a trashed used one. Auction sites Mustang restoration shops etc. are all potential sources.

Did you look in this forum's library? Try "Ford Car Parts" (aka MPC).

1967 Shelby / How to ID NOS stripe kit
« Last post by BHStang on April 16, 2024, 05:28:04 PM »
Picked up what was said to be an NOS stripe kit containing both sides.  What I got was a mix of kits.  But a full set both sides plus 1 extra quarter panel stripe.  Some pieces have no name or logos on the backing tape, some have Macal Film, 1 has the grey scotchhical 3M logo and the extra quarter panel stripe has the older blue 3M logo. What do we think is truly NOS and what is not?
