Convertible vs Coupe 65-6 Trunk lid torsion rod

If so, he used a lot of them.  I’ve see those on numerous ‘65s.  BTW, was the trunk lid tension rod arrangement—including brackets and fasteners, etc.—the same on coupes and convertibles of the same year?

Not that I recall.  I think the coupe had two rods?

Split this discussion off from one focusing on 65-6 fastback trunk lid torsion rods

So here are some examples so you can draw your own conclusions

On coupes the two rods are held to the body midway between the drivers side and passenger side trunk hinges. On convertibles there thewre is no midway unpainted retainer/bracket

Not sure if there is a question about the difference between coupe and convertible torsion rods?  If so, they are definitely different, have run into the issue before.

Lookign at both but there appear to be shaped differently at the end that connects to the top of the hinge

Different part numbers in the 66 Mustang Body Assembly Manual would indicate a different design.
