where to get good reproduction tie rods for 69 351W Mach
« on: January 09, 2011, 09:35:20 PM »
I am looking for a good source for reproduction tie rod ends for my 69 351W Mach1. Would MOOG be a good replacement for I have heard they were the OEM supplier back in the 60's. Any help would be appreciated.

Rare Parts in California makes a decent repro of the original tie rods without the grease fittings.  There are some minor differences but overall pretty good.

Agree you should be pretty happy with the current version.

The first two pictures are of the reproductions

i am impressed . They look very nice. I would recomend them over the auto parts store replacements. How much do they cost? Bob

Looks like the online catalog list them from $30-$90 each depending on application and which one

They were using Scott Fuller's boots and would always ask to make sure you were getting the correct ones rather than (possibly) some generic ones they may make for others - just to be sure ;)

The inner and outer tie rods for my application on the Rare Parts website shows grease fittings. I thought inner and outer tie rods for my 69 Mach 1 didn't have grease fittings originally.... The part numbers on the Rare Parts website are as follows: outer tie rod PN 25469, and the inner tie rod PN 25475....Anyone care to chime in?

Could not open the site to check the numbers that you posted. IF interested I guess the best option would be to ask the person on the phone if those are the ones with or without the zerts. They likely carry or make both.

Will mention the pictures to them next time I'm there - might just be the case of an old picture still being on the site

I called and got a confirmation about the grease fittings.  The picture for
PN's 25469 & 25475 is incorrect they come without fittings.
